I used to run Linux on the PC I use for simming, but a while ago I installed Windows 10 alongside Linux. X-Plane 11.50 betas (and the planes I was flying) were not always agreeing with my Linux installation, and I found myself using Windows more and more.
I was also approved for the POSCON beta, which has no Linux client yet. I also came across xOrganizer (and xToolbox, both Windows programs) which can really help keep your X-Plane installations organized. I found xToolbox particulary helpful in creating links to ortho scenery and sharing Orbx libraries between installations.
Bottom line is that I am almost exclusively using Windows 10 these days. My friend Ben pointed out that that opened up a new possibility: buying the IXEG 737, which I did. Until then I was almost exclusively flying the Zibo 737 and after buying the FlyJSim B732, which requires quite some effort to fly, the IXEG 737 feels like a perfect compromise between the really old school B732 and the 737NG.
I decided to buy the 737 Classic Pilot Handbook with it, to make sure I have enough reference material for this plane. Of course there’s enough to find on the internet, like the excellent http://www.b737.org.uk/ site, but I went for this as well 🙂
